Lenten Sermon Series:
Journey of Stones
Plan on attending worship weekly throughout Lent as we take an introspective look at our faith. Drawing on the rich imagery of rocks and stones in scripture, the sermons will center around the compelling metaphor of stones (and our willingness to throw them) as representative of our sins. You can use the following table as a guide for your daily devotions during the 40 days of Lent which begins February 14:
February 18, Exodus 32:1-24 Written in Stone
February 25, Psalm 118; Mark 12:1-2 Rejected (Corner)stone
March 4 Communion Sunday John 8:1-12 Sticks and Stones
March 11 Luke 11:37-52 Hearts of Stone
March 18, Matthew 16:13-20 Upon this Rock
March 25, Palm Sunday, Luke 19:29-40 Crying Stones
March 29 Maundy Thursday Mark 15:1-39 Stones to Bread
